MARINE TECHNICIAN

LBI IS SEEKING MARINE SYSTEMS TECHNICIANS WITH RELEVANT SKILLS TO JOIN OUR TEAM.

Job Duties and Responsibilities including though not limited to:

Safety, Environmental and Hazmat.
Blueprint and specification reading.
Measurement and layout.
Mechanical assembly
Carpentry and basic machining.
Cutting fitting and assembly using power tools (saws, drills, routers, grinders, etc.).
Bonding, sealing using epoxy, vinylester, urethane and silicone compounds
Surface preparation for coating and bonding using abrasive materials, blasting, chemical etching, etc.
Fabrication of patterns, plugs and molds.
Composite molding: Hand lay-up, vacuum resin infusion molding and vacuum bag. molding of carbon fiber, Kevlar and fiberglass.
Surface prep by sanding, blasting, and etching.
Select application methods of protective coatings, proper handling of coatings prior to application, the methods and techniques used to apply coatings, and identify coatings defects prior, during, and after application of the coating.
Spray equipment operation, maintenance, and cleaning.
Perform production inspections and fill out required paperwork.Skills/Requirements
6 month On-the-Job-training program available for qualified candidates.
Pre-employment testing and references required.
Experience in one or more of the following: Boat Repair, Carpentry, Composites, Machining, Mechanical, Autobody, Painting.
Team-Player with effective communication skills, positive attitude and a commitment to learning.
This is an overtime required job for those with an excellent work ethic.
Personal tools required.
