Restoration of the NR-1 Submarine

LBI was contracted to produce an installed display of the NR-1 Submarine for the Naval Submarine Force Museum.  LBI was selected to develop the exhibit because of our long-standing service contractor of NR-1 when it was in active service.

LBI refurbished the Sail, Fairwater Planes, Rudder, Propellers, and Manipulator Arm, fabricated the steel mounting base for the Sail and displays for the Propellers, Rudder and Manipulator Arm. The work included design and engineering of foundation structure and attachment to display platform, fiberglass repair and refinishing, steel and stainless steel fabrication and corrosion coatings.
